About Us

Bhagatji is an Indian sweets legacy brand with its roots in the small town of Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. Since the beginning, Bhagatji has been devoted to maintaining the best quality, with all its sweets and namkeen made with premium quality desi ghee. Bhagatji Sweets is also popularly referred to as Bhagatji Balushahi Wale, and Bhagatji Tatiri-Baghpat Wale.

We are most popular for our ‘Balushahi’ – Balu means ‘sand’ and Shahi stands for ‘royal.’ With a granular texture like sand and dipped in thick syrup, every bite gives you a unique experience. By the time you reach its centre, you find a roasted kaju that adds its own crunchiness making our Balushahi one of its kind.

Our Story

1945

Bhagatji was established in 1945 by Late Shri Gangaprasad who opened a small sweet shop in Aggarwal Mandi Tatiri (Baghpat). Fondly called ‘Bhagatji’ by people because of his humility and kind behaviour towards his customers, he had a special and unique way of preparing Balushahi with desi ghee that made it soft on the outside and crunchy on the inside. The shop still operates in the same place and receives regular visits from several loyal customers.

1976

This special preparation was carried on as legacy by the next generation led by Devender Bhagatji who played a pivotal role in spreading the name and fame of Balushahi outside of Baghpat. Being the eldest brother left to look after the business, he took over at the age of 16. From this point on, Bhagatji has continued to rise from the ground to where it is today.

2000

2000 It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
